What are the requirements to drive a boat?

You must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.

How old do you have to be to ride?

Our youngest riders have to be 8 years old, 45 inches, and at least 50 pounds.

Why do I have to sign a waiver?

For everybody's safety, Cat Boat Excursions is required to have a Release & Waiver Liability Form signed by each guest. A Parental Consent Agreement is also required for minors as well. ​​

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

If your plans change, you may modify your reservation up to 48 hours prior to the original date of your scheduled tour, no questions asked!  Tour date & time modifications are subject to availability. All sales are final and tickets are non-refundable for no-shows & cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled tour. It is your responsibility to make sure that you are at the docks on time. A gift certificate for a future tour will be issued if a tour guide returns a group prior to entering Raccoon Creek due to inclement weather. ​​

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled excursion to check in, sign waivers & a safety briefing.

What happens if the weather is bad?

For safety, we will not go out in lightning, but light to moderate rain can be just as fun! In the event of poor weather conditions that prevent the tour, we will reschedule your excursion or provide a full refund if we cannot reschedule.

Will I get wet?

You may get splashed, so we suggest you dress accordingly. We do provide ponchos in rainy weather. ​

Is there a weight limit?

Yes, 250 pounds per person. 

Do I have to wear a life vest?

Yes, and one is provided for you.

Are the boats safe?

Of course! The Cat Boats are designed not only for fun, but with safety in mind. These little boats have high density foam pontoons, making it virtually unsinkable. They are designed to tun in such a way as to never flip over. All safety equipment is included onboard each boat. We will teach every boater how to navigate the boats with great success - even first timers! ​​

Is there a restroom break?

No, we recommend using the restroom before the excursion.

Can we bring snacks & drinks?

Yes! We provide bottled water and there are cupholders on each Cat Boat.

Is alcohol permitted?

No. No exceptions.

How many days of the week are the excursions available?

7 days a week! Excursions are by appointment, for up to 9 people.
Depatures are Monday - Friday, 10:30AM-12:30PM, 1:30PM-3:30PM, and 6:00PM-8:00PM, Saturday - Sunday 10:30AM-12:30PM, 1:30PM-3:30PM, and 5:30PM-7:30PM

Can we bring an odd number of people?

Yes! One person in your party will either ride with our guide or drive their own boat.

Can I pay by cash or credit card?

Payment is by credit or debit card only. Please call or text 412-427-2786 to make your reservation.

Should we tip our guide?

Tips are appreciated if you enjoyed your experience. The amount is entirely up to you. We say, "Tip your tour guide, not your boat!"

Where do i park?

Park at designated spots for Cat Boat Excursions located at River Harbour Marina, next to The Standard restaurant and across from Jerry's Curbside and Bruster's Ice Cream.
